Shopping for vintage furniture can feel daunting — especially if you’ve never done it before and aren’t sure where to begin. It can also feel a bit limiting if you’re focused solely on thrifting in person and aren’t having luck at any of your local stores.
Thankfully, online shopping isn’t just for new furniture these days: There are dozens of places to buy and sell vintage and antique goods. From stores you love like Etsy and Urban Outfitters to newer shops like AptDeco and Everything but the Home, we rounded up 16 of the best places to buy used furniture.

1. Kaiyo
If you’re looking for super-stylish pieces and more curated offerings, Kaiyo may be a great place to start your used furniture search.This online marketplace boasts everything from gently used West Elm and CB2 pieces to high-end designer furnishings from industry giants such as Ligne Rosetand Herman Miller. The condition of the piece will be detailed in the listing, so be sure to note that, and take a look at the item’s photos before you buy. Pieces are trucked right to your door with White Glove service, but you have to live in the greater New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington D. C. metro areas to buy on this site currently. Alternatively, if you are willing to travel, you can pick items up from the brand’s New Jersey or Pennsylvania warehouses.
2. Facebook Marketplace
All sorts of treasures, including art and large pieces of furniture, are essentially at your fingertips when you fire up Facebook Marketplace.Use key search terms that match your style — mid-century modern or boho, as examples — or certain pieces you’re shopping for, and over time the algorithm will learn your preferences and show you the results that best fit your needs and aesthetic.
Purchase pickups are typically in person, so the shopping on Facebook Marketplace tends to be hyper-local. You can expand the radius of your search borders, though, if you want to see more offerings and are willing to drive for the perfect find.
3. Craigslist
Yep, furniture sales are still happening on Craigslist, the digital classifieds site where you can score everything from secondhand sofas and wallpaper to sinks and even countertops. You might even find some amazing freebies there as well, if you have the time to really scour the site — because, unlike some of the other entries on this list, there’s zero curation on Craigslist. Getting your items home typically comes down to in-person pickups, so again, shopping via Craigslist can be easier with access to a car or truck.
4. OfferUp
In addition to clothing, accessories, and small goods, furniture is also bought and sold locally on this resale app and platform. Sellers are vetted and rated, so you can make informed decisions on everything from chairs and dressers to sofas and beds. Negotiate prices within a secure messaging system, and pick up your item or take advantage of OfferUp’s shipping partners, if they’re available in your area.
5. The Real Real
If you’re looking for original artwork, including paintings, prints, and lithographs, take a look at what The Real Real has to offer. Pieces by both up-and-coming and more seasoned, blue chip artists have been authenticated by TRR’s expert buyers, so you can shop with confidence and without feeling overwhelmed by the gallery and art auction scene. Check out the furniture and smalls available, too.
Although TRR is best known for its fashion finds, the luxury e-consigner also sells coffee table books and high-end housewares from brands like Jonathan Adler, L’Objet, Lalique, and more.
6. eBay
Sometimes antiquing is all about browsing until you happen across that perfect item that speaks to you. But if you happen to be looking for something specific and you know what it’s called, eBay could be the antique hub you’ve been looking for. The site contains literally everything if you know how to find it, and you can score some seriously good deals, too!
7. Jayson Home
Whether you’re looking for an African stool or a French ice bucket, Jayson Home has it all. From amazing vintage (and global!) finds to even an expansive sale section, check it out if you’re hoping to save a penny or two on your vintage goodies.
8. Etsy
Etsy is a must if you’re looking for vintage anything, with hundreds of shops devoted to sourcing and selling antique finds. We’ve rounded up our favorite shops for furniture, lighting, art, and rugs, but you can find pretty much anything if you look hard enough.
9. Urban Outfitters
Aside from being one of our favorite places to shop for trendy and unique furniture and home decor, Urban Outfitters also has an impressive vintage goods section calledUrban Renewal. It features a mix of distinctive pieces sourced from around the world and vintage finds that have been given a second life. There are new finds being offered each week, and in the home section you’ll find tons of furniture, textiles, and rugs — likethis one-of-a-kind chairthat’s been reupholstered in vintage fabric.
10. One Kings Lane
One Kings Lane has plenty of new products, but theirvintage sectionis robust. Beyond furniture, you’ll findlighting,rugs,art,textiles, andbooks. The site even has blog posts dedicated to vintage dealers, antiques shopping, and top finds if you’re interested in learning more about all things vintage.
11. Revival Rugs
Revival Rugsis one of the best places to find vintage rugs online. You’ll find handmade, authentic vintage rugs available direct to consumers. We’ve seen a variety of Turkish and Moroccan rugs in all different colors and sizes; plus, all rugs are professionally cleaned before they’re shipped to you. Revival also sells a line of Revival-Made rugs that are designed by the brand and made by hand.
12. Rejuvenation
You might know Rejuvenation for their wide assortment of lighting, but West Elm’s sister store also has a can’t-miss section devoted to antiques. Each piece has been thoughtfully restored, whether it’s a light fixture, reupholstered piece of furniture, reframed artwork, or revitalized furniture. Keep an eye out for discounts too, as Rejuvenation tends to run frequent sales.
13. Chairish
One of the more well-known places to shop for vintage goods,Chairishfeatures an expertly curated selection of home furnishings and art. It is utilized by consumers, designers, and dealers alike — so prices tend to be on the very high end of what you’d expect from vintage furniture. However, Chairish takes care of all the shipping, unlike other sites where you work that out directly with the seller.
14. AptDeco
Similar to Chairish,AptDecois a marketplace for buying and selling vintage goods that takes care of the shipping and delivery for you — and now it’s available for customers across much of the United States. The delivery team inspects each piece to ensure that the quality is up to par, and if you’re not satisfied there’s a money-back guarantee. It’s easy, safe, and totally worry-free.
15. Everything but the House
Love hunting for hidden gems at flea markets and estate sales? You’ll loveEBTH, which lists secondhand items you can bid on (bidding always starts at $1). Everything is authenticated and handled by the EBTH team, guaranteeing a level of transparency you won’t find everywhere else.
Be sure to keep checking — products are bid on and sold every day. EBTH does allow item pickup if you’re down to drive to one of its two warehouses in Columbus or Cincinnati; otherwise, though, you’ll want to factor the cost of shipping into your bidding, as moving furniture far distances can get expensive quickly.
16. 1stdibs
Offering everything from vintage Cartier jewelry to fabulous finds for the home, 1stdibs’ online inventory is huge. What’s more, it’s offered without reserve pricing. Use the site’s extensive filters to find exactly what you’re looking for, or just browse for that next obsession.
